While the field is visible from the road, there are no visible animals nearby, making it a calm and distraction-free space for most dogs. Neighbourhood note: A Department of National Defence rifle range operates nearby on Wallace Drive, and occasional training sounds may sometimes be heard. Willowbank Farm “Millie's Memorial Play and Chillaxin Spot”.

History of our Sniffspot: “Millie “ was an English cream Golden Retriever from the famous Kyon Kennels in Orangeville Ontario . She was the sweetest family dog ever, and was even an extra on the original “Pupstar “ . Millie was also an adventurer and an escape artist extraordinaire ! .In her Diva way she demanded that we fence off a few of the bigger areas on our farm so she could safely roam off leash and have friends over . Millie enjoyed her ‘personal park’ for much of her 14 years here, and asked if we could continue sharing it with other doggie friends and their people once she passes. Millie passed peacefully at the age of 14 on Aug 12 2026. Description: “Millie’s spot” is Located in a a rural residential area just steps off the Galloping Goose Trail. We are up on scenic hillside close to Saseenos vet. Ours is the corner property on Gladys and Ludlow Rd. The entrance to the farm and Millie’s spot is actually on Ludlow road on the left just past the Gladys turn off across from Arleigh Place . We are on approx 2 acres of tiered landscaped property that is accessible with landscape stairs with railings to and from the designated Sniffspot areas . (Caution and good mobility is required on the hilly bits. ). The off leash Sniffspot area is approx .75 of an acre and comprised of a fully fenced 50x150 foot horse riding ring with firm style sand base, and another fully fenced horse paddock and picnic sitting area. Fencing is mainly with 4-5 foot post and rail horse fencing with 3-4 foot of mesh between. The fencing is best for dogs that aren’t big climbers or jumpers. There are both flat and hilly areas for dogs to run and explore . A great work out for both humans and dogs ! Sit up in the picnic area and toss the ball or frisbee down into the riding ring for an extra energy burning hill fetch run! Raining ? Or Hot weather ? Several Tree canopies of willows and cedars will keep you cool in summer and dry during a gentle rain . We also have a small overhang areas here and there . The of the footing is gravel, pea gravel or sand so mud is pretty minimal . The riding ring is professionally built with drainage , a sub base and sand over top . During a big rain the water sits on top and forms shalllow puddles but they drain out fairly quickly , dogs tend to love the puddles but they won’t get muddy. Agility ? The riding ring is a perfect venue if you want to do an agility training course! , You are welcome to bring your own equipment with the possibility to store it here if you book a series of visits in advance :) What to bring, the basics : Please Bring your own toys, poop bags and water, plus good walking shoes for the hill to and from the play areas. Sorry no washroom available, but Daniel’s market is just down the road . BASIC RULES 1. Leash your dog to and from the assigned off leash area 2. NO DIGGING ! Please DO NOT allow dogs to dig anywhere on the property , including the sandy spots, as we have horses using the spot as well. 3. Bring your own poop bags , and Take your dog's waste with you when you leave please. 4. Park at the foot of the driveway, or on the street only, do not attempt to drive in as the gravel is very loose. 5. Close any gates you open before you leave. Also Of note: We do share a property line with a neighbouring farm with 2 dogs ,chickens and small children. You will hear the dogs and children when they are in their yard , Our spot may not ideal if your dog is highly reactive to noise or potentially aggressive . Our two dogs LOVE other dogs and will play all day! We have a private driveway to our gated property. Well behaved, leash trained dogs can benefit from walks on the Olympic trail if wanted as well!

Wind Ridge Farm Field

Bathroom available on site is now located in an outhouse close to where you park your car. Please let us know if it needs cleaning it is checked throughout the day. SMOKE FREE ZONE. Pick up after dogs, garbage bin provided. There is a barn hose if you need water text or call glenn 2508962860. There are a few seniors visiting with mobility issues which is taken into consideration when there is poop left behind. You can always message me and let me know a general area and I can try to run out and pick it up between the next visit. There are some small gaps in the fence, so this is a great spot for large and medium sized dogs. Not a spot recommended for small dogs. Please keep dogs leashed until you are in the designated enclosed area. There is a 30 minute gap between bookings so you dont run into a dog leaving the field. A place to run

This was a horse pasture, but horse no more. There are a few elevation changes and plenty of river rocks that you are welcome to! Grass is mowed. Ignore the electric fence (it is off). 2/3rd of an acre with one shade tree, and a couple of chairs. Bring your own: doggie toys and water just in case (we do have a bowl for your dog). We now have new neighbors to the south: llamas, goats, sheep and possibly horses. At about 2pm two guys with 3 dogs wander by on their daily walk, keep an eye out for leashlessness.

WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!

Off West Pole Road, there’s a little lane next to a DeWildes nursery field. Our front field has a hidden gate (see pictures!) that will let you into our fully fenced front field. The grass is field grass and a little more rough and uneven than a yard lawn. When possible, please fill any dug-up spots so as to keep people and pups from tripping or getting hurt!

Peaceful mini-retreat with field & woods

Fully/securely fenced 20 acre spot with a hay field & orchard in the front. The back is forested with maintained trails throughout. Features include covered picnic tables in the field & woods, portapotty, drinking water station, balls/toys etc - see amenities for more details. Outdoor hose and rinse station provided, bring your own towels. Reservations are available up to 30 days in advance. Some days fill fast but plans can change & bookings get modified/canceled (2+hrs beforehand) - check back for an opening if interested.
