Bacon & Eggs 30 Acre Farm & Private Forest Trail - Oregon City

Partially Fenced
10 acres

We offer a dedicated 10 acre sloped pasture for walking, running, ball play, etc. also a trail hike through the woods up to a mile. (Be aware of uneven ground and blackberries; some thorns in mulch). The 30-acre property is fenced and isolated private space. The gate to the road is open for access but a good distance from the fields (so not closed while visiting.). The farm is a working farm so you may see workers and equipment away from the dedicated dog areas. Yes, part of our property has neighbors along the trail but fencing is in place and neighbors are seldom around. Water for dogs, trash can for baggies, picnic table and dog toys are provided. There are livestock fenced off from the trail, and some electric & electric mesh fences are in use.

Tail Waggers private dog park

Unfenced
15 acres

Your attendance has allowed us to continue development of our Disney Land for dogs and being a contributor to the Portland Humane Society. Toward that end this is what we have to offer at present with more to come. Two main walking trails, with two offshoot trail loops at present. Signage is there at each to help you in and out of each. Each has a selection of walking sticks at the trailhead, should you choose to use them. Appropriate good grip footwear is recommended especially during our monsoon season. Trail one, the shorter of the two, is about 25 minutes give or take, and takes a degree of dexterity more than trail too. Trail two contains two loops trails that take 30 to 45 minutes there and back to the parking area. The trail has two rest areas to sit with umbrellas to keep the rain off when needed. Trail 2, loop two has large Vern plant areas like you may have seen in the Jurassic Park movies. There are (2) Two parking areas, one much larger for up to 25 cars to accommodate larger group events. A porta potty for your convenience. Multiple poop depots throughout the park with bag dispensers. Two water play areas one is shallow to help pups to acclimate comfortably to water play. The other is the larger man-made pond area. The larger pond area has a selection of small watercraft to help acclimate pups to being on the water with a parent. A large selection of different size lifejackets for parents and pups. Floatable toys for retrieval are nearby. A Muddy Paw Spa to clean pups and shoes before getting into the car. Included, are multiple towels to dry off your pup, and a close line to hang the wet towels on to dry off. For those concerned about blue green algae, a bulletin board showing a test kit that can be purchased through Amazon. Test takes 15 minutes, with 99% accuracy. Next to it is an area to post the initials of the tester, date, time, and results of the test for other guests to see. Any guest doing this will be given an extra 15 minutes to the end of their reservation time on us. Please let us know in advance if you decide to do the test. For reasons to detailed to get into now, there’s never been an issue with blue green algae at Tail Waggers. A comprehensive agility course with all the obstacles that you would see on the YouTube obstacle course events. Multiple toy stations. If on your visit, you would like to donate unused toys for other pups to enjoy that would certainly be appreciated. A long mowed area above the pond for long distance ball and frisbee retrieval. They’re also a few frisbee catchers there to practice frisbee throwing accuracy. Long, medium range and putter frisbees are provided. A 10 x 10 doggy dig sandbox for those pups to enjoy digging. A tug-of-war for those pups will enjoy a good tug. The picnic area has been expanded to accommodate pup, birthday parties, pup, groups, and family gatherings. For those bringing young children, a swingset. Solar lighting around trees, parking area and the porta potty will help to illuminate these areas when darkness falls. There are water dispensers with water bowls. There is another area being developed presently that will become an urban agility course.

Please reserve your time a minimum of an hour ahead of time. We are a working farm and can't always be checking the app. We have logging roads and fields open to dog owners. Enjoy our scenic 120-acre farm with your puppies. Please feel free to leave a review. The landscape is unmanicured and slightly wild with quail, rabbits, and deer frequenting the area daily. A new forest has been planted, and the baby trees we ask to be left at peace to grow. We might be out working somewhere else on the farm and hope to see the blackberries slowly diminish, making this place more hospitable every year.

Nehemiah lane dog farm

Unfenced
30 acres

The property includes 30 unfenced acres of tall grass, trees, and quiet trails. The main trail makes up the perimeter of the property. It is 1 mile long and you will need to traverse underneath the bridge to Accsess the second half. There is limited access to the Yamhill River on both sides of the bridge. Some areas will be swampy during the winter and spring, especially in the lower sections. Please be aware of common forest hazards such as blackberry bushes, poison oak, nettles, and the occasional downed tree. There are no homes, restrooms or residents on the property only neighbors and a small garden area. You are welcome to explore both sides of the bridge. While there are "No Trespassing" signs posted near it, they are only intended to discourage the local homeless community. During the summer and fall, feel free to enjoy the fruit growing throughout the property most of which is at the far NW end of the grass road near the entrance. Deer and a variety of birds also call this place home and are best left undisturbed. You will find a couple of chairs and a small table set out for you to enjoy a quiet moment or watch the sunset. Please be respectful of our neighbors and remember to pick up after yourself and your dogs. Much of the property is being reforested in partnership with the USDA. / NRCS and is intentionally wild. If you bring kids feel free to use the swings at your own risk. Have a great time, Joshua

55Such a lovely spot, well kept trails and very clean. Note that the trails have pretty steep areas so wear sturdy shoes and eat your protein before you come :)

55Such a beautiful spot! My dog had a great time zooming around the trails and exploring. The trails are very clearly marked, and there were lots of benches situated in spots where you could take a break and take in the views! The trees were lovely and we saw some beautiful birds. We will definitely be back to explore more in the future! :)

55Beautiful property! Well maintained and clearly marked trails. A great workout for both you and your pup with plenty of benches to take a break as you're hiking along, including a covered one for the rainy season. Our visit was at the end of August so the the creek was dry, but that was expected per the description (just FYI if you're looking for a water feature). We passed a few goats on the View Loop (behind a fence) which we thought added to the experience. We will definitely be back!!

55First time here, perfect spot for my little guy. Kept him on a long leash but there's about an hours worth of moderately tough trails! There are some goats out occasionally behind a fence in case you have reactive dogs. I felt like I got my own workout along with the pup. Trails are very well marked.

55A beautiful place and so close to my home. My dog was having a great time until she stepped on something that bit her (never saw what it was) and couldn’t walk on that leg for a while. So we just sat and enjoyed being out in the woods for 15 or 20 minutes til she recovered enough to insist on continuing. She’s a tough little cookie! No fault in the place. Just one of the hazards of being in nature. We’ll be back. Will probably wear my hiking shoes next time. Hills are a bit steep in places.

55Our first but definitely not last trip to this spot! We had a great time walking through the shade on a warm day. Highly recommended for boxers, shepherds, pibbles, poodles, and other bouncy sniffy exploring type dogs. The trail is quite steep, and I appreciated the benches where I could listen to the birdsong while my dog explored. Getting some eggs on the way out was a bonus! Note for people bringing coated dogs: the grass burrs are just as bad here as they are everywhere else in Portland right now, which is very. We’ll be back in a few weeks after they’ve died down a little bit.

55I absolutely love this serene spot! It exceeded our expectations, was quiet, and our pup loved being able to hike trails off-leash. The host marked trails based on difficulty/risk and it was spot on, so be mindful which you choose (there are plenty of options). We loved seeing all the slugs and having a mixture of sun and shady spots, cant wait to visit again.

55I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It was very clean and guided directions for the trails and the benching along the trails we're especially nice for someone who might be challenged in walking too far or standing for too long. I can't think the hosts of these sniff spot properties enough for their generosity in sharing their properties with people who do not have large areas but in my case have a large dog who desperately needs good exercise. I appreciate the great pricing also because it makes it possible for people on any income I believe to enjoy these beautiful serene and wonderful outdoor escapes for them and their dogs.

55Such an awesome property to visit! There are well established trails throughout and lots of shade if you’re there on a hot day. One word of caution…there was a yellow jacket nest on one of the trails. Luckily we found it before our dog did and were able to keep him on a tighter lead in that area. The rest of the trails were clear. All-in-all a great visit. We look forward to coming back!

55I really liked this location and so did my dog. I scheduled this prior to knowing it was going to be really hot but there was a lot of shade but the hosts also left out plenty of water spots, so that was helpful! Would definitely come back

55This was perfect for my small dogs that are scared and reactive. They were so relaxed and loved their hikes. Beautiful setting! We’ll be going again. Maybe the dogs will make it the whole hour next time (short legs).

Frequently asked questions about Kerns dog hiking trails

Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Kerns?

Private dog hiking trails in Kerns eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Kerns's 23 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Kerns dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?

Kerns dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Kerns dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Kerns dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?

Kerns owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Kerns reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Kerns dog hiking trails?

Yes! Kerns dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Kerns dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Kerns dog hiking trails good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Kerns dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Kerns avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Kerns dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Kerns dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Kerns dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Kerns dog owners say about dog hiking trails?

Reviews of Kerns dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Sauvie Island, Riverfront, Field, 40 Acres, swing on River is particularly praised in Kerns. Read reviews to see real experiences from Kerns dog owners with similar needs.
