Conveniently located next to a public trail access, and located within private property. The lawn is a mix of short grass and soft moss, this is regularly maintained and never sprayed with chemicals or fertilizers. Fully fenced on all four sides with no low spots\gaps. One secured swinging gate at the entrance. Dedicated parking along the road just before the house and is clearly marked with a sign! The table next to the fenced area has a mailbox with hand sanitizer and other goodies, there is also a water\food bowl available. (I have a hose on the side of the house you are welcome to use) Please dispose of any used poop bags and other trash in the little blue trash bin under the table. The road next to the fenced area is privately owned, so the only people and vehicles that pass by are residents and delivery couriers but they are not very visible due to the difference in elevation. People occasionally pass by on the public trail and some do bring their pets, but it is mostly obscured from view by the trees on our property and separated by two sets of fences. Note that we are within hearing distance from a sportsman club\firing range, so at times there may be noise. Please reach out with any questions you may have!

Pig Beach (near Port Ludlow)

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). With that said, a 8 ft tide still gives you approximately 20 feet x 300 feet of beach to roam so you pup still has some room to explore and 9ft is approximately 10 feet x 30 feet. You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

FALL 2025 UPDATE: We have chickens in the Sniffspot now. They have a secure coop in the upper play yard. If your dog is overly interested in the chicken coop you will need to leash your dog in the upper play yard and only allow your dog off leash in the lower pasture. Dogs cannot be permitted to harass the chickens in the coop. Guests who allow their dogs to harass the chickens will not be allowed back. There is a gate separating the upper play yard and the lower pasture that you are welcome to close, creating a secure off leash area away from the chicken coop. WATER/HOSE -- We have a hose available for use * upon request * We must be home to turn the water on. Please message us if you would like the water turned on and we will do our best to accommodate. -------- Two adjacent and connected pasture fenced yards totaling almost one acre including mixed long grass/dirt/wild flowers, beautiful old trees and sloped terrain above and below. No known hazards aside from hilly terrain and some blackberry brambles (we are diligently fighting them). In rainy months Nov-April there is a shallow pond/wetland (bring a towel). Fencing is all new 5' agricultural fencing secure for dogs of all sizes, including coyote rollers on entrance gates. Enjoy the serene space with a creek just beyond the fencing. Many songbirds too! Upper pasture features a playset with slides and swings. Two benches for sitting. Maybe not suitable for very tiny dogs due to eagles/ hawks. Private!!! Closed toed shoes recommended as well as mosquito repellent in summer especially at dawn and dusk. Hose may be available with advanced notice. Private driveway can be hard to find (follow instructions in welcome message). *** This property is also home to the Community Center for a dog rescue so you are likely to see dogs/people when entering the property. Please pull ALL THE WAY down the driveway to the entrance gate when using the sniffspot so you will not see other people when accessing the sniffspot. Four Season Fun in Port Orchard

11/17/2024 - Due to the colder weather, we've enabled reservations in half-hour increments. Come rain or shine, and play or train, in or out. We have covered parking for you, 800 square feet of covered, protected, and padded play area in our pole barn, and 1200 square feet (0.3 acres) of fully fenced and shaded outdoor play connected to the barn. The SniffSpot is very private and removed from the house. All areas have lights so you can safely play late afternoons during the winter. Our secluded property is at the end of the road, yet close to town and just off the freeway. We provide toys for you to use while here, for large and small dogs, and for dogs with disabilities. Be sure to check out our Extras (all free). The SniffSpot gate is from the original Seattle Humane Society facility.

We have a barn for indoor training, lots of toys, chuck-it station...as well as 2 grassy acres of running space for your pups! We've begun clearing trails through the small wooded area in the back of the property, feel free to let your pups roam through the trails. It is completely fenced. At the front gates, there is a small 6 inch gap between the bottom of the gate and the driveway. If you have a small dog that has a poor recall, please be cautious or keep them on a leash. We have reactive dogs ourselves so we understand those that need a PRIVATE space to exercise their dogs. Our 3 dogs will be inside during your playtime.

Magical Mossy Forest

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a large mystical woodland adventure for dogs in Redmond on the way to Carnation. Boots are recommended in the winter rain. MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. High Rock Meadow

High Rock Meadow is a 4-acre securely-fenced natural meadow, surrounded by forest. Please note that this is NOT a manicured lawn space; it is a sloping meadow with uneven footing and heavy ground cover. You can explore a network of walking trails that wind through the perimeter forest, while your dogs romp in the meadow and zoom along the trails. Due to the forest canopy, on hot days it stays cool, and on wet days, it stays relatively dry, making nearly every day the perfect day to visit. There is no end to sniffing material in this 4-acre playground! The terrain in this spot is uneven and sloping, with some steep areas on the trails and possible muddy areas. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended. Those with mobility challenges may have difficulty moving about in this spot. We are located in a rural neighborhood and there are times when neighbors practice shooting. There is really no way to anticipate this, but If you visit and the shooting practice is going on and you need to leave early, please notify me for a discount if you'd like to try us again. Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may chain the gate & unleash your doggies right after the bridge. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. As mentioned, there are cabins on the property. Sniffspot is unavailable if the Cabins are booked or vice versa.
