The "Maplewood Farm" Dog Park (5-acres!)

Fully Fenced
5 acres

Welcome to “Maplewood Farm” Dog Park -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 and McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, and natural wildlife. It has a different feel from a typical backyard spot and gives dogs a private place to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896, still in its original form and in use. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. There is also a water-play area with a splash pad and above-head sprinkler/mister, plus a sprayer if you want to rinse or bathe your pup on the grass. Just outside the fenced area, I’ve added a cozy campfire seating area overlooking the dog park. Evening guests who book 1.5+ hours are welcome to use it at no extra cost when conditions allow -- a peaceful way to relax while your pup plays nearby. For a good visit, I recommend starting in the fenced area, then leashing your pup for a slower sniff walk around the rest of the property (imagine an entire city block). From the fenced area, you can follow the back gate into the wooded trail system, head toward the back cul-de-sac area, loop back toward the campfire area and barn, then continue through the mature forest trail. I’ve also installed several runner trolley systems along the trail for semi-free roaming, giving dogs a safe, guided way to sniff and explore under the trees. From there, you can circle back toward the open field. Signs are posted to help guide you. This is a natural, dog-friendly space, so dogs are welcome to explore, climb on log and wood chip piles, chew or pull on sticks, sniff around, and enjoy the property in whatever way feels safe and appropriate to you. I’m not precious about the landscape here. My priority is your pup having a good, safe visit. Best times to visit: mornings and early evenings are usually great for active dogs, especially during warmer weather. Afternoons can still be enjoyable with shade, water play, and wooded trails for slower sniff walks. Early evenings are one of my favorite times here -- you can enjoy the sunset, relax by the campfire, or unwind while your dog plays and explores. If I’m home, I may briefly welcome first-time visitors once your dog is safely in the fenced area. If you prefer a no-contact visit, just message me ahead of time and I won’t greet you. As a dog lover and builder, I’m always improving the space and adding more dog-friendly features. I just opened this spot in May 2026 and welcome your feedback, especially ideas for making the space better for groups, trainers, or special dog gatherings. 🐾 🐾 Valeng and paw friends 🐾 🐾

Kodi's 2 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Hudson

Fully Fenced
2 acres

My backyard offers 2 acres of fully fenced forested area with over 50 trees within that area! We keep a trail mowed that loops down into the bottom of the yard so you have a comfortable walking trail and your 4 legged friends can use it as a racetrack! Tons of smells to sniff and ample room for zoomies! There are some stickers/burrs in areas of the yard. For winter months, the slope in the yard can get icy so please wear good shoes and be mindful. My chickens have free rein to the property when there are no visitors so there will always be chicken poop on the ground in some areas more so than others. Chickens will always be secured in their predator proof coop and run. There are toys, a garbage can, a dog bowl, and extra poop bags on the patio just before the wooden stairs. Please feel free to park in the driveway on the right side of the garage!

PawHalla! Private Dog Park In Prior Lake

Partially Fenced
8 acres

Our Property Description: Our farm is located just 40 minutes south of Minneapolis in a gorgeous stretch of rural residences. This property is a hobby farm with many resident farm animals including chickens, ducks, geese, goats, barn cats and a pony. Your dogs will have plenty of animal smells to get their noses activated! We do see wildlife including many wild birds, rabbits, and an occasional deer. We have 8 acres total including about 5 acres of partially fenced and fully fenced pastures for our guest dogs! There is a kiddie pool we can set up upon request, we have some agility equiptment in the main fenced pasture/dog hang out spot that is free for you to use! We have seating for our two legged guests and toys that you can use for your pup! Important Property Facts: As this place is our home and a home for our animals we ask that guests please do not allow their dogs to harass our resident animals. We ask that guest dogs not be allowed to potty on anything man made (fences are the exception!). Don’t worry, there are dozens of trees and shrubs for plenty of potty spots! Because our cats free range the property we cannot guarantee your dog will not encounter a cat but the cats are dog savvy and generally shy around strangers. We have 2 fully enclosed fenced areas but our yards are not suitable (YET!) for dogs that are a flight risk as the main fences in our largest fully fenced pasture has had years of horses and goats leaning on the fence causing sagging in some spots down to about 2 1/2 feet in some areas. We do have a few bigger pieces of agility equipment in our personal yard which we ask guests not to use without permission. The large livestock gates do have slats that dogs can squeeze through as well. We are working at this time to create a solution for this! We do have one fence area with small mesh that would be suitable for smaller dogs. Please pick up after your dog. We know it can be hard in some of the tall grasses but we appreciate your effort to help keep our spaces as clean as possible for other guests! Also, our pastures are shared with horses for a few months out of the year. When horses are present manure will be present so we can help you avoid these areas if that is a concern! Lastly, we know we have a few Burrs around so if you spot any please let us know as we do try to pull them. We hope your dog loves our space as much as we do!

Frequently asked questions about Zumbrota dog fields

Why are private dog fields better than public dog parks in Zumbrota?

Private dog fields in Zumbrota eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Zumbrota's 38 private dog fields offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Zumbrota dog fields compared to public dog parks?

Zumbrota dog fields are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Zumbrota dog fields eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Zumbrota dog fields safe for reactive dogs?

Zumbrota owners of reactive dogs choose dog fields because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy full-speed running and fetch while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Zumbrota reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Zumbrota dog fields?

Yes! Zumbrota dog fields provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a large, open grass area where dogs can run at full speed and play fetch at their own pace without stress. Many Zumbrota dog fields offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Zumbrota dog fields good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Zumbrota dog fields because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Zumbrota avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog fields eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Zumbrota dog fields work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Zumbrota dog fields because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Zumbrota dog fields with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
