There’s also a parking lot next to me that has two hour free parking. Note: my house is right off Glebe so you can hear cars passing while in the back, but it is pretty sheltered from people passing on the sidewalk.

There usually are a number of my dog's toys laying around (frisbees, balls, and ropes), which you are free to use while you are here. Please leave them in the yard on your way out though. We've had quite a bit of our stuff disappear over the years.

Willow Tree Yard

**Potential noise/distraction warning for sensitive dogs: Today there are utility trucks and workers in the street outside our yard to fix some poles that were damaged in the recent storms. Also, there is a new house being built on a lot near our spot, and sounds from the construction work might disturb some dogs (or people). The timing of the workers is unpredictable and out of our control, but they are finished around 5:00pm most days, and they haven’t been working most Sundays. If you make a reservation, I will give you a heads up if they are working that day, so that you can decide whether to reschedule.** Description: Let your dog run free in our backyard that has a wooden privacy fence. They can play or lounge under our large weeping willow tree, and we have many other amenities for dogs and people (see pictures and amenities list for details). Seating/shelter: The lower deck has 3 lawn chairs and a canopy for protection from sun/rain. The upper deck (accessible via stairs in the backyard) has 2 rocking chairs and a picnic table with 4 chairs. Use of the shed in the backyard is not an option (it will be locked). Parking: There is easy free street parking in our cul-de-sac, and the entrance gate to our yard is marked with a sign. Operating hours: We are open all day on Saturdays/Sundays (plus some Fridays and holidays), and on weekday evenings. For after-dark visits, our yard has lighting, and we can also provide a flashlight for you and a clip-on light for your dog (2 available). Note 1: There is a public sidewalk that runs along the outside of the fence on one side of our yard. So, people occasionally walk by (and sometimes have their dog walking with them). The fence is a bit higher than 5 feet on that side, so people can be seen/heard briefly, and a passing dog could be heard/smelled by your dog if they are near the fence at the time. Most people have said this was not a significant issue for their dogs, but I'm stating it here for the awareness of owners of more reactive dogs. Note 2: When walking between your vehicle and the gate to our backyard, there may sometimes be other people or dogs on the street/sidewalk or in their front yards. Or there may sometimes be someone from our household leaving or arriving home (which involves walking between the front door and a car in our driveway). So please keep your dog on leash until you are inside the backyard with the gate closed (per standard SniffSpot rules).

A reactive dog himself, my rescue Reptar understands the value of private playtime in a safe space and invites you to enjoy his personal pup oasis! Reptar told me to welcome you and your dogs to enjoy his fully-fenced backyard with private lake access. He offers shade for our guests, both from the trees and a movable pop up tent. He also has a dog-kiddie pool for them to splash around in or rinse off after their dip in the lake. He provide outside toys, doggie waste bags, treats, towels and drinking water for you and our furry guests. He offers a 25 yard leash you can use when your dog is swimming if you are worried about their recall in the water. Swimming is at the discretion of the owner/booker, and we have no ability to control lake conditions. Welcome to sync your phone to our Bose speaker to listen to your own music or just enjoy the sounds of nature. In the springtime, it’s the perfect weather for your dogs to swim while you enjoy the view. Lots of wildlife to enjoy, you may even help us find newly hatched baby turtles during your stay!
