Woodland Tranquility Pathways - find solitude!

Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors... ‘chatty hosts/property owners’😉). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat, a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.

Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, I offer membership. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you are a member of my sniffspot, or have older dog/s and would like to drive below or up the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. Check it out by copying and pasting link below to browser or search listing through the hipcamp site. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-grace-e-s-mini-forest-ex9hrrp8?shareid=1ddvuyvr3yh Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little hike up our mini forest..

Wonderlane

The flowering bushes are in bloom! a great time for a visit! A world-class Pacific Northwest natural rainforest adventure awaits you and your best friends on 65-year-old trails, through 2 acres of trails, forest, tall old growth trees, a creek, and open areas for ball throwing and chasing sticks on 9 terraces. Starting with your choice of 2 entrance paths on the far right and left over a bluff that winds around to The Alien Landing Pad, through other trails forming circles to run around on and play. ('Yes, there are 2 paths you can go by'). At the very bottom, the trails lead to a creek. The property is partially fenced and has natural barriers. It is bounded by a fence at the top, a fence on one L-shaped side, a cliff, and creek on the other. Bring more than one dog, if possible, because they love to play 'Hide and Go Seek', and chase each other around the switchback trails, down the hill to the creek and back up the hill to the lodge. This tranquil forest was clear-cut between 65 to 100 years ago and not replanted. So we replanted our 2-acre forest with 600+ trees. The ground is wood chips, sand, and Pacific Northwest duff with 160ft tall Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Alder, Big Leaf Maple trees, Madrona, ferns, and native bushes with views of a 20-acre privately owned forested wetland. We prepared this as a Sniffspot for dogs. Rarely seen are animals in the forest - occasional wild rabbits, moles, squirrels, mountain beavers, mice, raccoons, shrews, voles, and weasels. Many birds are seen and heard here- thrush, grosbeaks, warblers, sparrows, starlings, chickadees, flycatchers, redstarts, vireos, tanager, pewees, orioles, woodpeckers - shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, such as hawks, and American Bald Eagles. This is a rugged forested area so be careful of footing, watch for signs of moles and Mountain beaver underground trails crossing the paths, especially along Secret Lane, Lover's Lane, and Hidden Lane. We spent 4+ years removing invasive bushes, cutting down dead trees, and creating places for you to play, pause, sit, and enjoy your dogs in this natural rainforest 1 mile from the South Sound. To help protect the environment, the land, and flowering plants, we added fences directing people and dogs onto the paths. When you park you can close the entry gate at the top. A garbage container for poo bags is available on the driveway as you depart under the Big Leaf Maple tree on the right in the large gray bin marked "Garbage". We feel a lot of delight here. We welcome you to enjoy it now! 2 Starbucks less than 5 minutes away in either direction (bathrooms are available there). Bigfoot Java is at 4627 SW 320th St. (no bathroom but open 24x7) Join us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 or search "Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot" :-) Wonderlane is a place to commune with nature, a peaceful place to breathe in nature with some walks over and around 2 acres of forested hills. When it is raining and for water dogs, a guest recommended bringing a towel to dry off pups' paws. There is water to wash dogs down near the creek. Actually there are water hydrants in most areas. If your dog is reactive and you want to, you may keep your pup leashed the 20 ft from your vehicle to the top of either trailhead. When leaving via either trail at the top you can easily pause to leash your dog if you wish. PS. If your dog doesn't want to leave, contact me and I'll ring the Magic Chuck Waggin' Triangle, and your dog will come. No worries!

Dog Nirvana in Maple Valley - 10 plus acres fully fenced!

Dog Nirvana is a Membership Spot. As a result most times show as unavailable as they are for members. Slots will sometimes be made available at the last minute if members aren't using them all. That typically happens the day of or the day before. If you would like to become a member please let us know if you would like to be placed on the membership waiting list. Come enjoy yourself in the country! We have over 10 fully fenced acres that include two spring-fed private ponds for dogs that like the water, some slight hills for running and playing, lots of wide open space and a beautiful creek. There will be no dogs, people or animals outside on my property during your visit. Please just bring your own toys and pick up after your dogs. I look forward to welcoming you! * The entire 10+ acre perimeter of the property is steel mesh fencing with poles and/or steel mesh fencing in horse fencing to keep the entire perimeter secure and safe. PLEASE NOTE there are TWO FENCING SYSTEMS here -- the internal pastures that are fenced in 3 rail white fencing and the perimeter fencing which consists of steel mesh to the ground and large log poles and/or 3 rail fencing with steel mesh down to the ground. The pasture fencing is located INSIDE of the separate property perimeter fencing. If a dog runs under the white interior pasture fencing they are still secured within the perimeter system. * The front gate and a service gate are metal with horizontal rails with 6.5 inches between each rail. Smaller dogs could potentially get out through the rails. A picture of the gate is included in listing photos so that guests can assess whether the gate will be an issue for them so they can determine whether this property will be appropriate for their pup(s). * This property is pretty secluded. Two sides of the property are surrounded by conservation land (woods), one by a quiet neighborhood road (with the only house set back and not visible while on my property) and the fourth (above the house and barn) by 60 acres in two parcels. The neighbors ' horses might be seen in the distance along the upper side of my property and you might hear their dogs barking from several acres away periodically. * Several pastures have covered horse sheds in them that can be used by visitors for shelter from rain or sun. * There is a dog dish for water, a container of water, poop bags and several garbage cans for doggie poop bags! * If you bring additional guests with pups PLEASE make sure they are aware of all information/rules shared in the listing and via message by the host. * Carey Creek runs along the entire south side of the lowest pasture. It is fully useable for guests. it is on my property but outside of our secure fences so if you go out the gates at the bottom of the property to get to the creek you should leash up if your dog has poor recall. * We have access across the road from the property to 1800 + acres with 30 miles of trails on Taylor Mountain (King County Park) so make it a day and come enjoy our little slice of heaven!

Lake Cavanaugh K9 Ranch

22 forested acres with private trails and an open field area located in the power line clearing. Includes private land access to state forest trails with views. Once you park you will see the trail entrance into the forest in front of you. Take the trail down to the creek. Water levels in the creek vary depending on the time of year. Cross the creek using the foot bridge and head through the forest. In about .3 miles you will come out into the powering clearing. Feel free to explore everything in front of you and to the left (north). There are several wide open grass spaces in the power line to play fetch or just let the dogs run and be dogs. If you follow the power line trail to the left, then follow it up the hill to the forest on the other side, there is another trail that enters the forest. This is all state forest and not easily accessible to the public. This trail will lead you to the top of the mountain on your right. Hiking this round trip will take about 2 hours. Approx 5 miles and 900 feet elevation gain. If interesting in doing this hike please ask me for details.

A walk in Dons woods

We have a number of wide moss covered walking trails through the woods. The property is fully fenced with wire fencing. But it is NOT dog proof fencing . There is a natural wide buffer between trails and fencing in most spots. The west side has privacy fencing, hogwire fencing on the North and a creek borders the Southend. . We have dogs on the property but they do not go venturing into the woods unless we are with them.

55My dogs had the best time here today, tearing through the woods and brush, splashing through the mud! It’s rustic which was perfect for my two. The pigs are adorable too though one of my dogs was slightly obsessed with trying to get in their pen to play with them toward the end. The pig pen was securely fenced so she couldn’t actually get in. The hosts left us toys and clean drinking water, though the dogs were happy enough just tearing around. We’ll definitely be back! Wear rain boots for sure as it is muddy.

55Five stars because it’s spacious, rustic/woodsy and the hosts were extremely nice. My dog had fun splashing in the mud. He will need a bath after though. The hosts mean it when they suggest wearing rain boots. Given how much space there is, it might help is the brush/growth is cleared out for the trails, so the humans can navigate through them. The pigs were adorable. Unfortunately my dog freaked out over them, he’s reactive. The hosts were very understanding and kind.

55We had a wonderful time exploring this spot! It’s quite muddy (in early Feb, so do wear rubber boots and bring some towels/water for cleaning up) but it’s private, quiet, and a great space for shy dogs to explore in peace. The main entrance to the walking trails does take you directly past the pig’s barn, and they’re very excited to come out and say hi - so do keep this in mind if your dog is nervous or reactive. We loved saying hello to them, they’re very friendly and talkative! Overall this is the kind of space we love - wild, peaceful, and lots of lovey secret spaces to explore.

55What a fun time! As others mentioned, good boots are a must, I wore my calf high rainboots and had a blast. This spot is definitely for sniffing, with lots of interesting things to investigate. Will be even more fun in the spring/summer when it's a little less wet. But if your dog loves getting wet and muddy and frolicking around in the woods, this is a must-visit!

55This spot is new and the owners are planning to improve the trails. I found the current state just fine if you are prepared with muck boots. It is a wonderful property and my dog loved exploring it. He was a little nervous about the two very sweet pigs in their enclosure but he is only a year old and I am thrilled for him to get exposure to new things. There are two dogs living on the property who were in the garage but managed to escape and had a nice romp with us. They are friendly dogs. Pretty sure the owner will fix the escape route however if your dog is not nice with other dogs you will want to be prepared. Overall we loved this beautiful place. Even driving up I could see how very protected from traffic it is. Entry/exit felt very secure. Finally, the owner is very communicative, responsive and invested in our having a good time. Great experience.

55Who knew? Paradise in Lake Forest Park. Beautiful woods and a fantastic creek. There is a bench to sit and enjoy the water and its sounds, accompanied with bird song. A peaceful, very enjoyable Sniffspot my dog Teddy and I will frequent. When I pulled into the driveway, Michelle saw me through a window and pointed the way to the gate; it felt welcoming. This spot is a dream of a place to be. Teddy ran and ran. There was a covered dog water bowl he drank from and also a trash can for used pooper scooper bags. So convenient! There is a fire pit, which would be great to use one day. Perfect place for Teddy to explore. He got his exercise in the fenced area before the creek trail, bouncing around like a Kangaroo. Lots of different plants to investigate. Really can't say enough about this new Sniffspot. Such a lovely place to be with your furry friend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place!

Who knew? Paradise in Lake Forest Park. Beautiful woods and a fantastic creek. There is a bench to sit and enjoy the water and its sounds, accompanied with bird song. 55Wow! My new favorite spot with Jackson! Pictures are duplicate to advertisement. I always give 5 stars for folks who rent out their spots for us. It is so generous and we are grateful for each spot. But if I could give this place more stars, I would. Perfect location. Been looking for a new spot close to us for awhile. We are so happy!

55Our dogs loved it! It’s a huge and spacious yard with lots to sniff. The bushes along the fence provide a great visual barrier. We heard a few dogs barking elsewhere around the lake. There are kids next door and they came out and were spraying our dogs with water over the fence (there’s a small section without bushes and the side of the yard facing the water doesn’t have a visual barrier) but they immediately apologized and stopped when we asked. Our dogs were okay with it but just something to be aware of! We’d definitely love to come back ☺️

55A delightful spot that is serene and spacious. Host was communicative about questions I had about the spot for my reactive pup. Good signage on a basketball hoop to guide you to the gate. Host would like you to park next to garbage bins by a garage, which is convenient, however, a bit challenging for us. There was a parade of neighbor kids right by the garage, making it impossible to for me to let my dog out until they left. This took up a good 10-15 minutes of our time, but the neighbor lady was courteous about it. A neighbor also has a dog barking for awhile when we first showed up, for those sound sensitive pups. Returning to our car was also a bit tricky as there was a dog my pup noticed before I could walking on the street that he had a reaction to. The yard is clean. I would recommend bringing water and a clean bowl. Although, there was a bowl set out by a bench with a small amount of water in it. I couldn’t see any access to fresh water otherwise. It is a lovely spot, however, a bit difficult for us with the level of reactivity my guy has at this time to visit again.

55The pictures really don’t do this spot justice! Beautiful spot with so much room to run. We definitely did see a couple people on paddle boards / fishing / talking and we heard a dog barking but luckily today was a good day for my dog, he was very engaged with me and didn’t react too much to the other things going on, but I know other dogs and even mine if he were in a different mood, may not be able to handle so many triggers. Overall, it’s a very clean, large, and awesome spot!

FAQ about our Bothell dog water parks

Are dog water parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars.
If you are worried about whether you can have an enjoyable water experience, just know that it is possible to have peace of mind when visiting dog waterparks by following basic safety guidelines. How do I know if a dog water park works for my dog?

We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions, and of course, checking water park hours.

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Additionally, we recommend following our water safety guidelines.
