Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. The pictures were taken during the winter months, the property and trails are so much prettier during the spring through fall months. Thank you for stopping by.k

Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use, enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, I offer membership. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you are a member of my sniffspot, or have older dog/s and would like to drive below or up the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. Check it out by copying and pasting link below to browser or search listing through the hipcamp site. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-grace-e-s-mini-forest-ex9hrrp8?shareid=1ddvuyvr3yh Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little hike up our mini forest..

Woodland Tranquility Pathways - find solitude!

Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors... ‘chatty hosts/property owners’😉). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat, a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.

Please Note: 11/25/22- I’ve decided to open up the calendar for a bit to allow reservations with greater ease, but I do still ask that you message first in case someone related to our forest cleanup project is on-site. 10/1/22- At this time the property could be potentially available for your use, however, we are preparing for the forest cleanup project that we’ve been working towards with the DNR for over a year. If you are interested in visiting here, please message and if it works out I’ll be happy to accommodate you. 07/01/22- Important: The Sniffspot platform does not allow hosts the option to approve or cancel reservations, as such I have blocked my calendar to more easily control reservations. I often don’t know until last minute when the forest manager I’m working with for the DNR forest cleanup project is on-site, the logging will take place hopefully this winter. — This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old-growth forest, and phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet with the exception of the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. This property was once a show home, but a fire took place over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the ruins that remain are minimal, it sets an interesting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photoshoot. Within the property is a small orchard, we do ask to try to not let the pups do their business there. Spring 2022 Update: One picnic table have been added to the property.

This was our first time visiting this Sniffspot, and it was by far our favorite yet. There was mud and some puddles, but that's to be expected this time of year. There were multiple, well maintained trails winding throughout the property, so there was a lot to explore. It was nice finding little gnome homes and other magical spots in the woods. My dogs had a great time on the trails and through the brush. They were very happy dogs.

The Walk in the Woods was beautiful and an adventure. Tons of space for the dogs to run, and boy did they have fun! It was fun to find all the hidden treasures around. If there has been rain, wear boots as there are a few low spots on the trails that fill up with water. But if you dont have water tromping shoes on, you can just skip those sections. I would highly recommend this spot.

We have been here several times now and each time I just find it to be such an enjoyable place to be. Love seeing the changes happening as Spring arrives and new plants start to come up. It is peaceful and Kai just has a wonderful time running around on the trails!

This beautiful spot is worth the drive from Seattle. The dirt trails are easy on the feet for both people and dogs. Right now the trails are covered with psychedelic green moss, which complements the enchanted vibe. Dog did more zoomies than I've ever seen!

Wonderful! It was a bit muddy driving into the property but once there the trails through the woods were firm. Beautiful spot to go for a walk and so many new areas for Jango to explore! I loved all of the different gnomes that were in old tree stumps and along the trail! A really fun experience in this strange time! Thank you!

Some welcome sun today, as Dog made further incursions into the brush. He'll have the whole place mapped in his head by our next visit (if he hasn't already). Love this spot; the combination of trails and off-trail brush that's not too thick is just what the dog likes.

Lovely place for a walk in the woods! Several trails to explore and make a few different loops around the property. Unless, you have good voice control, I'd recommendation keeping dogs on a long line or leash. Several places to get through the fence. The trails are nice and open, so still very easy to walk if you have a long line on your dog. There were some off leash dogs walking on a trail nextdoor, while we were there. Great place to escape and let your dog explore.

This was my very first experience with Sniff. It was easy to find and turned out to be a lovely place for my pups to get some off leash exercise. It felt safe, secure, and very clean. There was enough space for my GSP to run and wear himself out. We will be back!

We loved this spot!! We will be going again.  We have three dogs and it’s hard to walk them all on a leash. They loved it! The trails are beautiful and well kept. The directions are spot on. So glad we found this and you can’t beat the price for an outing. Thank you!

This sniff spot is super cute! It’s the perfect Secluded place to take your pups and meander. You can enjoy a spot on the bench to listen to the birds while spending quality time with your dog (s) without worrying if there are any other dogs/people around. The water bowl in the parking area is a great touch.. I really enjoyed the trail figures along the way. I highly recommend!! 👌🏻

A magical place! These mossy paths wind around maze-like with quaint signs in the trees to keep you from losing your way. The walk was private and peaceful - a wonderful respite in these times when isolation is necessary but hard to find. My whippets were able to run freely, a rare treat for them and I was assured of their safety. For newcomers: if you are early, as I was, there is no place to park and wait. There is only one parking spot after  you are in the confines of the woods.

Just a wonderful place for a walk. It's like a treasure hunt as their is always something to discover in the woods. The directions and signage are great and the new water station was a hit!

The dog tells me that this is the happiest place on earth, and I believe him. Today, my normally non-fetching dog actually exhausted himself chasing tennis balls around the trails. He also became transfixed by a garter snake, but that's a whole different story ... A great time was had by all.

We visited this Sniffspot a few days ago.  It was a great experience for both Sally, the dog, and for us, the humans.  With all that is going on in our world today it was so nice to walk the peaceful trails and get away from the stress and sadness.  Sally enjoyed using her nose to investigate all the smells and we used our eyes to find all the delightful woodland scenes. Since I don't trust her recall I use a long line.  It was very easy to use on the paths.  I highly recommend a visit to A Walk in the Woods.

We loved this spot. Lots of trails to walk around on. They are all mossy so the dogs didn’t even get dirty. There are all kinds of things to find on the trails. They have faries, dragons, and Little nomes everywhere.  It was so fun to look for them. Water was provided at the end. This is a 6 star Sniff Spot!

Hi Harold, Thank YOU for sharing your beautiful property. I had a fabulous time walking the trails trying to burn off Zoe’s puppy energy. Two hours was perfect. I’d love to come back for another visit. It felt totally safe to have her off-leash and running free. She fell asleep before I got to the freeway on the way home.  Thanks again,  Debra

A really great spot. Lots of trails that are nice and wide and easy to walk on. Set back a bit from main roads. I will definitely go back if they let me.
