Accessibility note: Waffles Ranch includes an upper grassy area with shade and seating, accessible by stairs. Dogs with mobility limitations or joint issues may prefer to remain in the lower pasture. Country Run's Private Ranch is 58 acres located just shy of one mile off of Highway 285 off of Pleasant Park Road. An amazing location - a hidden gem. As you walk from the parking area along the path, the property opens up into a beautiful aspen forest with wooden benches and a large meadow. Half way down the meadow on the left (west) side is a small riparian area with Alder trees - the beginning of several spring fed creeks. The hillside on the east side of the property offers rock outcroppings, large rock benches and 360 views. Our dogs thoroughly enjoy their time here and we hope your dog does, too! Depending on the time of year, the spring fed area can be muddy, an old towel is recommended for the drive home. This property is perfect for dog walks, picnics and celebrations. The Training Yard is a place for your focused training. You can also use this area as a cool down area after playing in the field. And of course, this is a great yard for my guests with smaller paw prints. Please be mindful that you may want to roll in this grass with your dogs as I do with mine, so please spend time in the field area to potty your dogs before entering the Training Yard. The neighbor has dozens of loose chickens, and the dogs do not bother them. Dogs may bark with curiosity, which is normal and okay, but they often stop once they realize the chickens do not react. Also, the neighbor has a friendly dog that infrequently, though on random occasion has access to this shared fence line. Please consider this if your dog is highly reactive to other dogs.

This is a quiet, natural Colorado backyard with room for dogs to sniff, explore, play, and decompress away from a busy public dog park. The yard has a mix of dirt, mulch, mature landscaping, trees, and a large deck for humans to relax while dogs enjoy the space. One of the best features is the south-facing back gate, which opens directly to the public trail system. You can enjoy private yard time first, then leash up and head straight out for a longer walk without getting back in the car. The yard is fully fenced at approximately 6 feet, with mostly wood privacy fencing and a wood-framed wire section along the open-space side. Because the rear fence is partially see-through, you may occasionally see or hear walkers, cyclists, dogs, or wildlife on the trail. The area is generally quiet and trail traffic is usually light, depending on the time of day. My resident dog will remain inside the house during your visit and will not share the yard with guests, although she may occasionally be heard from inside. Street parking is available in front of the property and throughout the neighborhood. Guests enter through the west-side gate and may leave through the same gate or use the back gate for direct trail access.
