55It was a lovely spot, with plenty of interest for puppies. Kaeto was thrilled by rolling around in leaves (which we hope is okay! We tried reassembling the piles) and there were even little activity stations from what we could see in the dark. Definitely recommend and we'll be back - during the day next time (though it was really well-lit!).Cherise J.

55This place is fantastic and very clean. The trees make it feel bigger, so there’s more to explore or play hide.
FYI: The next property will host other pups clearly visible through the fence.Xavier M.

55Great yard. Lots of room for our pups to run around; they were tired when we left. Good parking available, host was great with communication. Will definitely visit again. Chairs for pup-parents, and water bowls for fur-kids. Very clean yard. Thanks!Kristina K.

55We have a tiny pup and there were a few spots we had to keep a close eye on in the fence but they said they would be improving the escape areas. Overall lots of sniffing to be done Tate & Cam B.

Fenced, Quiet Yard For Exploring (not hard running) In upper Queen Anne | Sniffspot
55This was our first Sniffspot playtime and it was wonderful! Yolanda's place is in a lovely, quiet part of Queen Anne. We easily found a great street parking spot out the front. The back yard was perfect with plenty of grassy space for my two little, white, fluffy poochies. Binky and Baby Bear zoomed around together in what I can only describe as a state of absolute glee! I felt like I was in a pretty small town - the golden afternoon sun and the wind chimes made it a lovely, peaceful escape for me too. Yolanda was very nice, she responded fast and gave me clear instructions.
We shall be back very soon. Thank you, Yolanda!Samantha T.

55This was the perfect spot to get a big dog’s zoomies out! Lots of toys, two fresh water bowls, and all the space for playing. There is a bit of a ledge/steep hill from the patio area down to the yard, so if you have a reckless dog like mine, you may have to watch them for high jumping to avoid any injury. We loved it and would love to return.Kelsey B.

Frequently asked questions about Hornby Island dog parks
Are there dog parks in Hornby Island for reactive dogs?
Yes! Hornby Island has 19 private dog parks specifically designed for reactive, anxious, or dog-selective pets. Unlike public dog parks where unexpected encounters can trigger your reactive dog, Sniffspot offers completely private bookings. That means only you and your dogs will be there. We enforce 30-minute buffers between visits so you won't run into other park users when arriving or leaving. This makes Hornby Island Sniffspots perfect for reactive dogs who need safe off-leash exercise.
How many private dog parks are in Hornby Island?
Hornby Island has 19 private Sniffspot locations ranging from cozy backyard spaces to expansive properties spanning 5+ acres. You'll find fully fenced dog parks, small dog parks, and dog fields options, each offering complete privacy during your reserved time. Browse listings to compare sizes, amenities, fencing, and reviews from other Hornby Island dog owners.
Are Hornby Island dog parks friendly for all dog types?
Absolutely! Hornby Island Sniffspot locations work for every type of dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer away from large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space to run, and yes, reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. Because bookings are completely private, you can customize the experience to your dog's specific needs—whether that's careful puppy introductions or stress-free exercise for nervous dogs.
Will there be other dogs at Hornby Island dog parks?
No, that's what makes Sniffspot different from public dog parks! We only allow one booking at a time, and host dogs must be kept away during your visit. When you book a Hornby Island dog park, you have the entire space to yourself (plus any dog-owning friends you invite). This privacy is crucial for reactive dogs, puppies in training, or any dog who needs space from other animals.
What makes Hornby Island dog parks safe for anxious dogs?
Hornby Island Sniffspot locations provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. There are no aggressive dogs, no inattentive owners, and no unexpected encounters that could traumatize anxious or fearful dogs. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars, with many highlighting how safe their reactive or anxious dogs felt.
Can puppies use Hornby Island dog parks?
Absolutely! Hornby Island dog parks are ideal for puppy socialization because they provide controlled, distraction-free environments. Puppies can practice recall, build confidence, and explore without the overwhelming chaos of public dog parks. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting any Hornby Island Sniffspot.
Are Hornby Island dog parks good for small dogs?
Yes! Many Hornby Island Sniffspot hosts mark their spaces as "small dog friendly," meaning they're appropriately sized for toy breeds and small dogs. Unlike public dog parks where small dogs risk being overwhelmed or injured by larger breeds, Hornby Island private bookings give your small dog the entire space to themselves. Look for secure fencing with minimal gaps and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
What are the requirements for Hornby Island dog parks?
All dogs must have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. Each Hornby Island host may have additional requirements listed on their booking page. Most welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit traditional public dog parks.
