Coming here will feel like you are in the country with the beauty of the mountains, a field to run in and a trail to hike in. *Please note that the acreage is a total of 86 acres including the crop areas. There is very little time that the crop area is restricted. When the pumpkins are grown, it is fun to walk up the rows and we welcome the pups to be in there, take photos etc. If you visit during planting, we ask the dogs stay out of that area as that can damage the crop. There is lots of space to run and walk/hike. The perimeter trail is approximately 3.5km. There is short grass, tall grass the dogs can go in and out all over the field in the front and middle of the property. As well as up the hill trail.

Lake Cavanaugh K9 Ranch

22 forested acres with private trails and an open field area located in the power line clearing. Includes private land access to state forest trails with views. Once you park you will see the trail entrance into the forest in front of you. Take the trail down to the creek. Water levels in the creek vary depending on the time of year. Cross the creek using the foot bridge and head through the forest. In about .3 miles you will come out into the powering line clearing. Feel free to explore everything in front of you and to the left (north). There are several wide open grass spaces in the power line to play fetch or just let the dogs run and be dogs. I will send you detailed instructions for the hike up the mountain upon request. This is a real hike and I recommend hiking attire. Please bring water for yourself and your dogs. The hike is about 3.5 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain. I recommend booking at least 2 hours to complete. If you want to hang out and enjoy the views you may want to book more than 2 hours.

It is peaceful and quiet, there is no road noise .It is spectacular and a safe peaceful place to walk and play with your dog companions. Pull in at the west driveway of the Farm following the tree planted driveway to the field. Park in the grass area before you cross the ditch , before you cross into the berry field.The ditches have clean water in them - your dogs are welcome to play in the water. I know my dogs LOVE IT!!! Our space has been a favorite for people with reactive dogs as you literally have wide open space all to yourself and your dog companion. April 2023 Field is currently all in grass- We will take first cutting grass off sometime the first couple weeks of May. I will keep you posted here.

There is a play structure to keep your kids busy. Welcome to our SUMMER PROGRAM starting April 1st. Our summer program includes fun, parkour and agility equipment to learn and bond with your dog. Bring treats for training! There is also a box of toys and a lost n found available. Water is provided. Please use the pooper scooper to pick up after your dogs. There is plenty of room to play ball or practice obedience or run. This is a farm setting but we are in a residential area so please cognizant of noise either by humans or dogs. Off West Pole Road, there’s a little lane next to a DeWildes nursery field. Our front field has a hidden gate (see pictures!) that will let you into our fully fenced front field. The grass is field grass and a little more rough and uneven than a yard lawn. When possible, please fill any dug-up spots so as to keep people and pups from tripping or getting hurt!

Peaceful 1-Acre Nature Field for Dogs - Fort Langley

A private, gently rolling acre of natural farm land in Fort Langley, kept for one dog group at a time. No other dogs in sight or earshot, no road noise, just open space and quiet. This isn't a flat backyard lawn. It's wild grass, mowed low enough to run and sniff freely, with soft rises and dips and a wide-open, ranch-country feel. A natural freshet runs along one edge, songbirds are always around, and the occasional rabbit gives the bold ones something to chase. The whole acre is fully fenced with a secure gate, so off-leash is genuinely off-leash. Even the bold rabbit-chasers stay contained. It's a genuinely beautiful, natural setting that feels tucked away, yet it's only minutes from the city. Fresh water and waste bags are on site, with a spot to sit while your dog roams. Fully fenced, mostly grass(rather dry and crispy during summer) with a wood chip and dirt walking path around the outer edge of the ever-changing yard and a couple garden beds. It's relatively flat and great for fetching! There are neighbor dogs that may occasionally bark next door along with a nearby horse we can hear every once in a while, but other than that, it's pretty quiet. [edit: The neighbor dogs are out more often for summer and they have been a bit barky, so if your dog is reactive, my spot might be better one to visit when Fall gets here and the Dachshunds are back to just being indoors] There are many squirrels and birds that frequent the yard, along with at least one mole that wreaks a bit of havoc on the grass. I'd prefer no digging, but if your dog got a mole, I would probably not be that upset about a hole. We lost one of our dogs last year and our remaining dog seems bored with the yard. I'm hoping making our yard into a Sniffspot will give him some enrichment as well, sniffing all the new dogs who have visited the yard. So far, all the new sniffs have been very exciting for my little rescue gremlin. :)

WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!
