It is about a 1 mile trail or more. trails are not plowed open in the winter but are perfect for snow shoeing, hiking an fat tire bikes in the snow on the trails or perfect spring to fall on the maintained trails.

Welcome to Maplewood Farm Dog Retreat -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 & McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland, roughly the size of a city block, tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, wildlife scents (ton of bunnies!), and a very different feel from a typical backyard spot. Dogs get room to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks, while hoomans can relax in the shade or bring family for a picnic. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896 and still in use. QUICK 30-MIN VISITS are great for pups who just need to burn energy, stretch their legs, or take a potty break. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 x 100 ft, with room for off-leash play, fetch, zoomies, a 7-ft spring pole, and the NEW Pup Parkour Platform for climbing, balancing, confidence-building, and play. Lots of balls, frisbees, tug ropes, and poop bags available. Water play includes a popular splash pad, bathing sprayer with doggie shampoo, and a fancy lawn sprinkler with settings for pups who love “eating water” lol! Parking is right next to the gate, with shaded seating and a hammock for the hoomans too -- sometimes suspiciously comfortable. Please remember, you did bring a dog ;) For 30-min visits, please use the fenced area only. The spot is largely SELF-SERVE. Trolley attachments may be at either end of the line, so check both ends if you don’t see one right away. Occasionally, I may be working in a designated area between the house and barn, mostly out of sight. Any active work area will be coned off -- just give it a little space. Dogs are welcome to explore, climb on logs and wood-chip piles, sniff around, chew or pull on branches, and dig -- even inside the fenced area. Great spot with room to run, toys, some agility equipment, and seasonal plastic fur kid pool! Fully fenced: 1 side privacy fence, 2 sides chain link, and one side with the house and gate. Added FYIs: - Place bagged poop in the small garbage bin. 🗑️💩 - Please do not allow pups to dig or to enter the small separately fenced garden. 🌱🪏 - If you remember, it helps to throw "fetch" in lots of different directions to spread out the "wear and tear." IF something goes over the fence, do please just let us know (we will contact the neighbor)--**do not** physically step over the fence (it causes fence damage) 🏡 🤳🏻 - "Same day" bookings will probably have the bedtime and morning 💩 from my pups since I routinely only pick up after work during warm months. This is a large, open grassy yard with plenty of room to run, sniff, play, and explore! Mature trees provide a peaceful setting with some shade. A table and chairs are available so you can relax while your pup enjoys the space.
