For humans, our large covered patio features comfortable shaded seating around a spacious table—perfect for relaxing while your dog plays. Whether you’re looking for a quiet escape or an energetic outing, the yard provides a clean, welcoming environment for both dogs and their people. For your comfort, the pasture and seating area are treated periodically with pet-safe products to help reduce mosquitoes and make outdoor play more enjoyable for both dogs and humans. Accessibility note: Waffles Ranch includes an upper grassy area with shade and seating, accessible by stairs. Dogs with mobility limitations or joint issues may prefer to remain in the lower pasture. Thus far, all the dogs have loved all the smells and have enjoyed exploring all the dirt piles :). We have a big backyard, completely fenced in and it's a dog paradise. We have a deck for humans to sit on and hang while the pups play. Right now we have 2 large camp chairs set up but should be getting patio furniture at some point so it will be a little more comfortable. I have a Chuck-it and some other toys that you are welcome to play with and use. There is a water bowl out back and if it is empty or the dogs drink it all up, then there is a hose you can use to fill it up.

It’s a little small (mom says she’s “easing me into it”), but if you’re into water, go for it. If you like chasing squirrels, you’re in luck. They are everywhere! Seriously. It’s kind of my specialty. And as for grasshoppers… let’s just say I’ve handled that situation. Those things are annoying, so I take care of them myself. Mom also offers extra playtime with me (you should definitely choose this—I already know I love you, it’s just how I am). I’m full of energy when we first meet, but once I know you’re sticking around, I’ll settle down and give you space… if that’s your vibe. Otherwise, we can play. And play. And play some more. If you prefer to hang in my yard by yourself, that's cool too. Enjoy all the smells. Mom has some garden boxes in the back and she composts in the center of them. The smells coming from there are my favorite, 10/10, but she put a fence around everything so you will have to sniff from afar. 🐶

The surface is a packed sandy soil with dry groundcover during dry Summer, Fall, and Winter months, and mowed natural vegetation during the Spring and wetter Summer months. A walk around the interior fence line is about a quarter mile so it is great for the active dog owner too. This Sniffspot is a close, rural ambiance location in Aurora just two miles east of I-225 from the Sixth Ave exit. The Training Yard The Training Yard is a 60’ x 30’ fenced yard with a Dog Tuff ™ grass surface. This is a unique grass designed with dogs and drought tolerance in mind. The Training Yard is a place for your focused training. You can also use this area as a cool down area after playing in the field. And of course, this is a great yard for my guests with smaller paw prints. Please be mindful that you may want to roll in this grass with your dogs as I do with mine, so please spend time in the field area to potty your dogs before entering the Training Yard.
