Walter & Leroys Ridge- 3 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Cambridge

3 acres of full fenced area that can be closed off into separate areas (ie: main yard around the house, side yard, and lower pasture) or you can have it completely open and connected to all areas. There are cut and maintained trails in the lower pasture and then many smaller trail systems created by the deers and the dogs. In the summer it is buggy and there are ticks- particularly in the wooded area. I’m working on getting some tiki torches that can be lit when people are exploring the lower pasture. I’ll try and keep some bug spray and a lighter by the entrance to the lower pasture. During July-August is when the horse flies are the worst. Things to know about horse flies- they are attracted to shiny items (the sun hitting a car, rings, watches, dark hair). When it’s hot out, they like to be in the shade and when it’s cooler in the mornings they like to be in the sun. They aren’t deterred by citronella like mosquitos. If you have a dark haired dog I highly recommend using “swat” and applying some to their ears & top of their head, it’s the only thing that keeps them away from my GSD. I will try and keep a container of swat by the entrance to the lower pasture- make sure to wash your hands after applying it. There is also an additional acre-ish in the “arena” that your welcome to explore, however it is partially/poorly fenced and it is connected to the area where the goat pasture is, so if your dog has poor recall or issues with livestock it would be best to keep them on a long line if your going out there.

NOTE: we will be cleaning and storing away the agility equipment for the winter season starting in September. The agility equipment displayed are only available during the summer months. A large, open 1.25 acre fenced in yard with multiple small hills that is bordered on the west side by a public walking trail (with 6 foot fence) and on the north side by Rice Creek (with 5 foot fence). Note that the creek is not directly accessible from the Sniffspot. During the winter months, deer and foxes pass just outside of the fenced in yard, while in warmer months the creek entices additional wildlife as well as the occasional canoeist or kayak. Agility equipment pictured are available during the warmer months and are not available in the winter. There's abundant street parking as we are located at a dead-end. Please do not park in the driveway. Enter the yard using the gate located to the left of the garage.

This is a great little spot with alot of privacy once you are down the hill by the river. There is an open field for the dogs to run and play catch with a mix of grass and sand, There are multiple spots where the dogs and people can get into the water if you wish . I also have a picnic table and some chairs down there to sit and relax at , it is very peaceful and private. I also offer overnight camping for guests for 100 a night , I have a nice large lodge style tent set up overlooking the river , there is a grill picnic table , firepit a couple fishing poles or you could always bring your own. I also have kayaks and a canoe available for rent also.

Welcome to Maplewood Farm Dog Retreat -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 & McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland, roughly the size of a city block, tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, wildlife scents (ton of bunnies!), and a very different feel from a typical backyard spot. Dogs get room to run, sniff, explore, and decompress -- with off-leash play in the fenced area and more of the property to explore on longer visits. Hoomans can relax in the shade or bring family for a picnic. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896 and still in use. QUICK 30-MIN VISITS are great for pups who just need to burn energy, stretch their legs, or take a potty break. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 x 100 ft, with room for off-leash play, fetch, zoomies, a 7-ft spring pole, and the NEW Pup Parkour Platform for climbing, balancing, confidence-building, and play. Lots of balls, frisbees, tug ropes, and poop bags available. Water play includes a popular splash pad, bathing sprayer with doggie shampoo, and a fancy lawn sprinkler with settings for pups who love “eating water” lol! Parking is right next to the gate, with shaded seating and a hammock for the hoomans too -- sometimes suspiciously comfortable. Please remember, you did bring a dog ;) For 30-min visits, please use the fenced area only. The spot is largely SELF-SERVE. Water play should be on and ready when you arrive; please turn ALL water off when it’s not being used and before you leave, since I may not always be home to monitor it. If I’m home, I generally come out briefly to say hello and welcome first-time guests, and only when dogs are in the fenced area. If you have a reactive dog or would simply prefer not to be greeted, please msg me before your visit and I’ll give you your space -- totally fine! Otherwise, don’t wait for me -- come in and enjoy your visit. I keep app notifications on and am good about responding, so msg me anytime if you have a question or need something. For the FULL MAPLEWOOD FARM EXPERIENCE, I recommend booking 1–2 hours. Explore the fenced area, then head through the back gate for a slower long-leash walk through the wooded trails, around the barn and house, and toward the open field. Please remember that outside the fenced area, you’re exploring an active residential/work property, so you may occasionally see me around the house, barn, or property. There are also a couple trolley lines for semi-free roaming; the longer one runs over a road trail. Trolley attachments may be at either end of the line, so check both ends if you don’t see one right away. Signs and a property map in the photos help guide you, but feel free to explore and take whatever route suits you. My pups stay inside during reservations. I live and work on the property, so you may occasionally see me around the house or barn or working in a designated area between them. Any active work area will be coned off -- just give it a little space. This is a natural, dog-friendly space with a manicured feel -- part private dog park, part little nature retreat. Dogs are welcome to explore, climb on logs and wood-chip piles, sniff around, chew or pull on branches, and dig -- even inside the fenced area. I’m not precious about the landscape here, esp since the property may be developed next year. While it’s still here, I want our furry friends to have it and enjoy it. Foster dogs and dogs with physical or sensory challenges are welcome for a steep discount. The spot is open pretty much anytime from early morning to midnight, so you can book around your dog’s energy, the weather, or your own schedule. I LOVE pups and understand that some need their own spot to roam and explore! My yard is completely fenced. I have a sanbox for digging. Lots of doggy toys, a water bowl on the porch and poop bags, a poop scooper and a designated trash can for convenience. I have pups of my own and do my absolute best to make sure all poops are scooped before you arrive…but can’t guarantee that I don’t miss any. There’ll be wipes and towels and bags for you to use. My pups are on premise, but will be secured inside. There is one small pup in the yard behind me that may/ may not be out. She will bark!
