Private 20-Acre Wildlife Preserve with Nature Trails and Water Access

Bring your fur babies to this beautiful private wildlife preserve in Gerrardstown. Our private property features nature trails that lead to a 7 acre pond and private access to Back Creek. Your pups can take a swim in the pond or splash around in the beautiful crystal clear creek on the backside of the property. There are otters in the pond so be watchful that your fur babies don’t have a negative interaction with the wildlife. We only host one booking at a time so the full 20.56 acres will be yours for the time you reserve. Additionally this property has three main areas. At the base of the driveway, you will find a forested area with clearing to sit in the shade and let your pups play with the available dog toys or explore. Make your way to the back of that first main area to begin your first nature trail which leads you straight to the beautiful 7 acre pond where more seating is available. From the pond there’s another winding trail that takes you through the backside of the forest and then opens up on Back Creek. Parking: You can park at the top of the driveway, on the side of the road, or you can bring your vehicle down the driveway. For small cars it is recommended To park at the top of the driveway due to unlevel terrain. Before you leave the property: please clean up all of your dog waste and dispose of in the waste bins along with any trash. And please place the dog toys back in the bin. Welcome to the Hive's Sniffspot! We have just about a half acre of completely fenced in yard for you and your pups to enjoy with sun, shade, grass, trees, lots of great sniffs, toys, and room to run! You and your pupper can play fetch, frisbee, and tug. You can tease your pupper with our flirt pole or maybe you want to just relax on our covered porch or on our yard deck, rocking the time away while your BFF explores the yard! We have squirrels to chase, fresh water to drink, a hose to spray your pup down with, a sprinkler and/or pupper pool to frolic in on those hot summer days, and a towel to dry them off with! We even have a huge sandbox for sanctioned digging! The queen and king of our hive are our (rescued) 5 year old spicy pibble, Sophie, and our 7 year old (also rescued) refined gentleman husky, Kasai. The pasture has been mowed and cleared of the tall grass and weeds. The pond was treated for algae and all the trees and weeds around the pond were cleared. It looks wonderful now!

We have somewhere between a third to a half acre in our backyard, fully enclosed with a 5 to 7-ft wood fence. We have shady spots, but there also aren't too many trees, so there is plenty of room to play fetch and run around. Amenities include a dog jump, a small dog tunnel, and furniture on the lower deck for you to sit down. There usually are a number of my dog's toys laying around (frisbees, balls, and ropes), which you are free to use while you are here. Please leave them in the yard on your way out though. We've had quite a bit of our stuff disappear over the years.
