A nice and spacious spot! We liked that there was a grassy run on the side of the home, a brick spot to bounce a ball on, and some chairs to sit in. Parking was easy. Hope to come back soon!

This is a really nice space, with lots of room to run around and the occasional mud puddle for the dogs to bathe in. 😁

Great open spot to run and play! There are a lot of holes to be careful of and I was a little confused of which fenced areas were the owners property but I believe we stayed in the right spot! Very quiet and all to ourselves!

Directions were clear and easy. Host was accessible and kind! Property was fun for my sprinter :) Especially fun for his burrowing animal sniffing obsession. It was great!

Great place to wear out your dog. My girl loved putting her nose in every rodent hole and watching the birds flying overhead. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes as it can get muddy

This spot was great! Just a nice drive out of Portland! The host was friendly and helpful and the dogs tired themselves out quickly! Property well kept and not too soggy even after the snow!!! Going back tomorrow:)

Nice quiet area, just make sure you pay attention to the instructions and don't get defeated by the gate like I did. Already planning on going back

Great spot for dogs that love to run and explore! Our 2 year old English pointer had a blast running the perimeter of the lower field and watching the birds. Will definitely be visiting again

Was a lovely open space to let the pups run and explore. This is exactly what I was looking for - a safe, open, private puppy adventure out in the country.

Wonderful area!! Lots of room to run, holes to smell, and even a tiny bit of water to splash in. The directions were clear, location was very easy to find, the parking was straightforward, and simple to figure out where we needed to be! We accidentally surprised a few chicken hiding in the bushes (dog was on leash) on the way in, but thankfully no interaction was had beyond a jump scare. Near the end of our visit the chickens did end up coming into the offleash area, but we recalled and leashed the dogs as soon as we noticed (and before the dogs did). There was a spot on the fencing area in the far back that my 21lb Working cocker walked under, but she was recalled back into the hay field right away. My Husky slipped through the farm gate once into the chicken’s barn area (that’s connected to the offleash area), but thankfully the chickens were still in the lane at the time and he recalled immediately out as soon as we called him. Oh and the opening to the neighbors field is right beside where the two SniffSpot fields connect, so they sometimes wandered out for a moment when we walked back and fourth, but it wasn’t an issue calling them back into the right area. The dogs had fun, we had fun walking around, and no chickens were bothered! This is a perfect area for dogs to scent, run, play, and be silly as long as they have solid recalls and aren’t super interested in birds. We love this SniffSpot!

We absolutely LOVED Barbara’s property! My dog had a wonderful time running, sniffing, and practicing his retrieves in a nice, big field! We will absolutely be back, and I would highly recommend this spot!

Barbra gave clear instructions and communicated well. The map was helpful. She was understanding of my dog's triggers (prey drive) and gave great advice - we had no problems with the chickens or any field rats, but the heads-up was really helpful. Tons of space to roam and run, and a beautiful view too.

Great spot, lots of room to run in the country. Good directions from the host and nice views from the v. One thing to note is that there is an opening in the fence to the neighbor's property so make sure your dog has good recall!

Barbara was great at communicating. She gave clear instructions on where to go and how to access the property. She even came out to greet us and make sure we were clear on where to go. Note: there is one area that opens to the neighbor's field that doesn't have a fence in case you have an escape artist.

Barbara has a great field that our dogs loved zooming in! Barbara is very helpful, quick to respond, and kind when answering any questions I had. Her property has easy access to a hose and poop bags/shovels, and there is plenty of space for dogs to run and play.

Another wonderful experience! My dog loved watching the chickens sneak around, and we had a great game of frisbee, the property was beautiful as always, i love that there are other animals at a safe distance my dog can look at and get used to. You can’t beat the price for such a beautiful play area!

Woodburn farm is a fantastic place to let your pup run! Tons of space, easy to find, and Barbara was a great host. While there is a water spigot available, we were glad we brought water and a bowl so Bud could cool down between sprints in the field. Our dog is a bit of an escape artist, so one of us played goalie to keep him from going through the open gate to the neighbor's field, but it wasn't a problem. The property is otherwise fully fenced. If you're going on a hot, sunny afternoon there's little to no shade. However, the sunshine was lovely and we really enjoyed our visit!

A beautiful large field that we were able to walk, and fetch in ! The owner was so accommodating and we caught a beautiful sunset, she sets SUCH a fair price for the size of the yard. Definitely coming back !!

This space is really lovely and big. My dogs had a great time sniffing, exploring and attempting to hunt for rodents (didn't actually find any). We will definitely be coming back. A couple of things to note is that there is one gap in the fence into a neighbor's field (this is in the owner's notes). The other is that these are hay fields and the grass is a bit dry and prickly so dogs with sensitive paws might take some adjusting. One of my dogs is like this but she came around and had a fun time.
What other types of private dog parks are available?
Dog water parks
Many hosts have added water features like pools and/or are nearby lakes or rivers.
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 0% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Hillsboro area are 5 stars.
