55We were traveling from Richmond to Baltimore and Brie needed a good sniff and run spot. This was a perfect place. Brie ran, sniffed around sheep pen, explored the pond area non stop for the entire 60 min. We are driving 2.5 hrs back to Baltimore now and she is OUT napping in the back seat. We are just sad this place is far from where we live and won’t be able to visit unless we come down this way again. Stacey K.

55My dog always loves it here. Plenty of land to play fetch or run around and sniff, fresh water available, huge pond, and some farm animals! Sydney N.

55Another wonderful spot for my pup to explore! Milo especially loved all the sniffs near the pond and animal area. He got scared once of the animals but there’s enough room to distance if your pup is unsure of other animals! We will definitely be back. Kaylynn H.

55My dogs had a great time exploring this farm and paddling in the pond. The owner is very responsive and kind! Our dogs are off leash trained so if your dog isn’t I would recommend a long line so you don’t have to worry about them leaving the propertyHenree J.

55The dogs really enjoyed the lake! There are a few thorns in some areas so watch out for those, otherwise very clean spot and plenty of space to run around. Emily P.

55Very pretty space! Wide open fields (there is a smaller fenced area) to run through. Bucky loved meeting the cute sheep and watching the geese in the pond. The grass was a little long and we did encounter a snake but hey we’re out in a field so not unexpected. Would definitely come back! Shannon R.

55This was my first time going to a Sniffspot, and it was a great experience! It was easy to find, and the information about where to park and map of the space was very straightforward.
The location itself was great - wonderful open space with lots of things for my dogs to smell and explore. My old lady dog (~14 years old, with a knee surgery a few years ago and arthritis) struggled a little bit in the fields with the tall grass and footing, but my puppy had a blast racing around and I had no issues 🙂
We didn't take advantage of the pond, but it looked very accessible and clean - so we'll probably play there in a future visit!Amy S.

55My pup and I had a blast here! Went around sunset, the views and ambience were perfect. It’s so quiet and a much needed getaway from the city noise. Safe to say Cruz thoroughly enjoyed this spot :) Mackenzie S.

FAQ about our Doswell dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Doswell area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 122 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 24 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
