55This is the only Sniffspot we've visited, but have been twice now, because it's wonderful! Tons of space for doggies to run around on a beautiful mountainside. The yard is securely fenced all the way around. We did have one of our smaller dog friends try to make a getaway through the slatted gate, but he didn't make it all the way through. :) Thanks for having us! Lindsi E.

55Melissa is a GREAT host, you will not be disappointed and the visit will be worth every penny! She recently put an amazing swinging lounge chair/loveseat on the patio so now you can have the full relaxing experience while knowing that your dogs are having the time of their lives in a safe, fenced-in area. Cold water for the pups, and even extra beds for my seniors who tire-out after about 30 minutes. I come here at least once a week and it’s the best part of my days off! Andrea J.

55Such a great spot! We had everything we needed, including fresh water. Our dogs had the best time on the agility course and chasing squirrels around the space. The fence is secure and we didn’t have to worry about our dogs finding a way out. We will definitely be back! Alice T.

55This property is AMAZING! It has absoluely everything we wanted and needed. It had fenced in forrest to explore, an agility course to play on, and a patio to relax on.
She provides water and a poop scooper for the pup.
Our dog is reactive and she made sure she was not there while we were. It was the first time I have ever felt 100% comfortable letting him off leash to play.
My boy had SO much fun exploring and playing. We will definitely be back.
The only thing we suggest is since it is so far away from everything make sure to use the restroom before you go!Ashley B.

55Mountain Paradise was my first Sniffspot experience, and it was fantastic. The wooded area is the perfect spot for dogs that love to sniff and explore, and the ability area is great for playing fetch. I was also appreciative of Melissa’s detailed directions for finding the location. We will definitely be back :) Emily W.

55I highly recommend mountain paradise - and will definitely be returning! Melissa is a great communicator and has everything you need for a good walk through the woods/agility course. The address information and instructions took me right to the driveway with no issues.

55 I can't say enough wonderful things about this spot! It is very large, has shade with trees, and Melissa is so kind to provide for the dogs. My dog is unable to go to most places because of his size and aggression level, so this was the first time in almost 11 years we were able to hike somewhere off leash. We enjoyed ourselves so much! Will definitely be back. Thank you Melissa!Jenna R.

55Loved it! What a beautiful property. We felt completely at ease and loved exploring the woods. We even did a little training time in the agility area. We appreciated the water and chairs - it was nice to take a break and have a little lunch in the shade. We will be back! Thank you so much.Stephanie H.

55Wonderful space and property! There is a section of fence facing the driveway that has gaps +/6" wide that my girl would have squeezed through happily, but I kept an eye on her and put her on her long lead eventually. The enclosure at the agility area was great so she stayed off leash. A little metal mesh along that weak edge and we probably would have been ok off leash with only the entry gate to keep an eye on. Had a great time! Jessica H.

55We loved our first Sniffspot experience - Melissa’s property was amazingly fun to wander around! Definitely screenshot/print the map and directions - we lost service when we were still 30 min away (but it was fun to feel so remote in the mountains).Carrie M.

55Beautiful weather, with everything you could need for a relaxing day. Some dogs were busy chasing chipmunks while others were fetching and exploring, as my senior lounged on the comfy bed Melissa was nice enough to put out. Andrea J.

55I've been wanting to try out this spot for over a year and finally made it there with my two dogs. It was a beautiful day, and the grounds were exactly as described. Three fenced acres in the pines, with some clearings and rock outcroppings, all to yourself with your dogs, and a fenced in, level agility area with all of the equipment you could want to set up and run a course. It was a beautiful drive and the dogs are sleeping soundly now. Melissa also has dog training knowledge, and offered to donate some time at her spot to some local shelter dogs at the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley (where I am the trainer). I couldn't be more pleased, and my dogs concur! Lisa K.

55What a wonderdul spot! My dogs had such a wonderful time here. Melissa was very nice--her instructions for getting there are very accurate and she kindly pointed me to the right gate (next to the house). The property has moderately sloping terrain with a few rock outcroppings in large fenced area, and a separate, flatter area with (nice!) agility equipment. The fencing is in good repair, and the host provides water plus a spot to deposit poop bags. There are also a couple of cot beds available in the large yard--very handy! This is the perfect place for my dogs to blow off some steam and safely practice their off-leash skills. My dogs all weigh about 30 lbs, and the two who are particularly inclined to chase chipmunks did discover they could slip under the front porch steps, so it may be prudent to block that spot off if you have a smaller dog (I used one of the cot beds). I will be back!Monica G.

55What an amazing experience! My boys and I enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to going back again and again. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. My two super athletic pit bulls had no issues with any of the gaps under the front gate or the stairs, but a small dog might be able to squeeze out. The area is really large and beautiful with a ton of trees and rocks to climb on. It was quiet and peaceful, definitely worth the two hour round trip drive. The boys were SO tired on the drive home. Excited to go back!!
I’ve seen a few reviews complaining about directions and getting to the location. This location in in the mountains for real. So if you’re not comfortable with twisty turny roads or having to do a little work to find the location off the road- maybe a more city type location would be better for you. GPS will take you to the driveway, then use the directions she wrote to get you the rest of the way. Plan for an extra 5 or so mins from what the GPS says so you can get to the location. Bailey K.

FAQ about our Idaho Springs fully fenced dog parks
Are fully fenced dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. Human and animal safety is our #1 focus. Without a private option, many dog owners are relegated to using athletic fields or tennis courts for their dogs, which are not private or safe. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. And with fully fenced Sniffspot parks, you can get the safety of a fenced-in space for dogs, while still having plenty of space to run.
