This was my first SniffSpot and I will definitely be back!! Jacqueline is a friendly host and has a great place for reactive dogs. We did see a deer as we approached the spot but none during our visit.

We’ve been to sniffspots all over the country and this one was definitely one of the coolest!! We spent 1.5 hours here for my dog’s birthday and saw less than half of the spot. Will definitely be back, thank you so much!

Easy to find. Beautiful piece of land. Plenty of space to explore. My dog enjoyed all the smells and chasing some birds! Gunshots were heard in the distance, but wasn’t bothersome. The host was very responsive.

Another great visit! For hot days out definitely bring your own water and I always recommend leggings or long pants in order to walk through the tall crops.

Beautiful fields with so much to explore! I recommend reviewing the map so you know where to go. My dog had a lot of fun but it took us awhile to get oriented. Casey the host was super nice and helpful! We will definitely be back.

10/10 my favourite place! The crops were beautiful and my dog had a blast exploring! Casey is also a great communicator and I’ve never seen any other pet or human when visiting. I think there is a hunt club (?) nearby so you may hear dogs/shots off in the distance on occasion - but super rare from the few times I’ve been. It was a perfect peaceful day!

I’d definitely recommend waterproof hiking books and long sleeves for days when it had rained the day before but as always my dog had a blast!

Awesome property! So big you have to make sure you consider how much time it will take you to hike back to the car on your way out! FYI the fields farthest from the house were not planted when I went, which made them the easiest to walk on. We'll be back!

This was my first time SniffSpotting, & it’s going to be hard to top the experience. It was sheer delight to see my dog & her BFF run & play & splash & sniff. The humans enjoyed the blue skies and breezes as well. Access to the hose was a nice bonus.

This was my first time SniffSpotting, & it’s going to be hard to top this perfect day. The dogs ran for hours, jumped in, out, & over creeks, & got their noses full of good smells. The humans were equally enchanted with the fresh air & blue skies. Everyone was grateful for access to the hose. Thank you for sharing this beauty!

Plenty of space to let my dog run without fear of other people and dogs. Wide open area with minimal trees. My dog had a blast running around the area.

What a beautiful, secluded place! With Richmond’s ever growing population it’s not easy to find yourself truly alone in nature but Casey’s property gave us that chance. Izaak was able to just be a dog, running free without a leash and me the chance to feel more relaxed knowing he was allowed to play without all the rules or distractions of tons of other people. It’s a vast piece of land so we did opt to use a long line until we got a feel for the place. A very happy day was had by all.

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Hanover area are 5 stars.
