55Good parking and easy entrance. Host was very responsive and flexible as it was raining that day and she let me come a bit early to catch a gap in the rain. Space for fetch was limited space since half the yard is up a small hill and has lots of little trees, but likely fine for small to medium dogs. Overall a very nice spot! Caitlin F.

55What a lovely spot! A very cool (and large!) private area for play, and thoughtful spread of chairs/toys/water bowls/doggy bags for guests. This is exactly what my pup and I were looking for and we will certainly visit again ~ Samantha B.

55My dog and I had a great time. He ran around sniffing and looking for squirrels. Once he was a bit tired out we played some tug in the yard and just enjoyed being outside and off leash. We will be back. Tara G.

55Absolutely breathtaking property. Chris is a wonderful host.
The slope of the driveway and yard was perfect for tiring my shepherd out. Highly recommend. However, I did see a couple foxes, so make sure your dogs have solid recall. Elizabeth B.

55Chris's spot was clean and quiet. Chris respected my dogs space and Max had a blast running through the large front yard. We were able to make our way down in the backyard to see the creek and Max enjoyed going for a swim. It was pretty thick brush and brambles by the creek, but we didn't mind that. There were two other people/cars that came to the house while we were there. One was a worker who left after 10 minutes and one was an Amazon delivery driver who was very quick. Since the front yard is along the driveway, I would say we were secluded but it wasn't 100% private because of the other people who came. I kept Max on a longline the whole time and that worked for us. The yard is so big that we were quite far away from the other people/cars.Claudia C.

55A beautiful property that's private with tons of space. There are some old fence lines but with so much room to run around, you won't feel a fence is needed. Most of the free space is in front of the home and alongside the driveway.
Difficult Run is downhill, behind the house. We kept Penny on a flex leash while exploring that area. There are lots of brambles but it's not much of a problem if you pick one of the game paths to follow. It is a steep route however. It's great to have this place so close to Vienna / Tyson's area. We will definitely go back soon. Bring towels for muddy paws. Rick L.

55This space is absolutely everything I wanted to give a dog in terms of ability to be out in nature with a friend off leash. Some open space, some woods, a bit of water -- the works! We didn't make use of the water access but it's winter just now so a splash wasn't as compelling. Chris thank you so much for sharing. Your land is lovely!!Karen H.

55The yard is peaceful and quiet, set back in a park setting. We saw deer back in the woods. Fenced all the way around with a picket style wood fence. Some gaps in the fence are big enough for a small dog to squeeze through/under, but my medium dog was fine. Nice signs to point out where to park and which gate to use. Overall good experience. 55Owners were very responsive and accommodating. Before we booked, I messaged the owner about any gaps in the fence. The owner got it fixed that day and responded to let me know. It’s a quiet area and our pups enjoyed running around. It can be muddy after rain so make sure your shoes will prevent slipping. The yard also has 3 gates so make sure all are closed before unleashing your dog. Trina T.

55Chris’ spot was great for my wild boys; they had a blast. Lots of terrain elevation, access to water, big open spaces, etc. for them to explore. Host was responsive and accommodating. Parking was easy. Come prepared for some briars / thorns, intermittent barb fencing, and the normal amount of debris expected with a waterway if you decide to head down the hill for a splash. However, it’s cleaner than most public parks / bodies of water. You can hear/see roadways far off but the property is well embedded enough to not be concerned about traffic. Highly recommend for hunting and sporting breeds with off-leash recall. Kristen H.

FAQ about our Sterling dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Sterling area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 279 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 56 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
